Tips

Six ways to stand out.

01

Write your one-sentence pitch.

Who you help, what you do and where. If you can't say it in one sentence, nobody else can either.

02

Pick two fonts and stop there.

One for headings and one for reading. Using the same two everywhere makes you instantly recognizable.

03

Choose a small color palette.

One signature color, one dark color for text and a few soft tints. Use them the same way every time.

04

Get a logo that works small.

Your logo has to read on a phone screen and a business card, not just a sign. Ask for a simplified version too.

05

Use your own photos.

Real photos of your team, place and products set you apart from every stock-photo website.

06

Sound like yourself.

Decide how your business talks, warm or formal, playful or plain, and write everything that way.
